Drew's First Do

I had come to accept Drew's mullet, and at times, even love it. But his hair had gotten so long that even the Georgia humidity couldn't keep his curls tight enough to look neat. Combine that with his farmer's tan and Thomas the Train muscle shirt that he begs to wear every day - and he just didn't have that Baby GQ look, ya know.

Brian and I jokingly said that the first time somebody thought Drew was a girl, we'd cut his hair. We didn't think it would actually happen, though. Well, we were wrong. We went out to eat breakfast at I-Hop on the 4th of July, and the lady sitting at the table behind us told us how pretty both of our daughters were. Yep, it's go time.

We took Drew to the salon the following weekend. I was expecting him to scream like the little girl that he looked like, but surprisingly, he really enjoyed the salon experience. There may be some metro in that boy yet! He kept looking in the mirror and saying "big boy". He was so proud to be big enough to get a haircut just like Daddy. :)

I walked into the salon with a baby boy, but I walked out with a toddler. He looks so different now. I am so blessed that I get to be a part of his life, watching him grow and change. If only I could figure out a way to slow it down!
