stuff I found on the web this week

$h*t Nobody Says - One minute and ten seconds of pure sarcasm? This is so good that it should be a ride at Disney World.

New Years Resolutions and Why They Should Die  - A waitress' perspective on New Year's Resolutions.
You see, because people feel the need to lose weight at the beginning of the year, they don't go out to eat... And because people are determined to save money at the beginning of the year, they don't go out to eat... And if people don't go out to eat, servers don't make money.

No Pajamas in Public!  - Do you know that on the same day that I scarred my daughter for life by wearing pajamas in her school, a Louisiana lawmaker pushed to make it illegal to wear pajamas in public?  Louisiana, my daughter thanks you from the bottom of her scarred, little heart.

Point-less Meals Blog - Whether you're following the Weight Watchers program (like me) or you're just trying to eat healthier in the new year, this blog is a great place to find lower calorie versions of your favorite meals, snacks and desserts.

Ryan Brunn, after confessing to murdering a 7-year-old girl, committed suicide in his cell - When you're raised in a small, southern town, sometimes you forget that bad things can still happen there.  Murderers are not kept outside the city limits by an invisible wall of protection.  Rapists are not scared off by our Baptist revivals or prayer said before a high school football game.  But instead, they walk the streets and they look just like everybody else.

My uncle, David Cannon, was appointed to defend Ryan Brunn, who pled guilty to all charges against him last week.  After only two days in prison, Brunn committed suicide in his cell.  I shouldn't speak for my uncle, but I'm sure that this was one of the hardest cases that he's worked on during his career as a criminal attorney.
