Ten Little Birds: Poetry for the Disgruntled

Today suuuuuuucks with a capital S-U-U-U-U-U-U-U-C-K-S.

Here's the highlights:  I overslept, I fell down the stairs, I had a flat tire, I was late to work, I got cussed out by a total stranger, and I heard some heartbreaking news about a friend.  And that was just within the first hour.

Is 11 AM too early to start drinking?  No?  Good.

People deal with stress in different ways.  Some eat.  Some sleep.  Some exercise.  Some yell.  Some cry.  Some shop.  And some write.

This poem came straight from the heart and it's dedicated to everything that is today.

Ten Little Birds

Ten little birds, perched high in their nest
But one little bird did not want to rest
So nine little birds watched him fly
As another little bird took to the sky
Eight little birds with nothing to do
So one little bird just flew the coop
Seven little birds began to tweet
But one little bird sang off-key
Six little birds tossed him over the edge
If they keep this up, they'll be no birds left!
Three more birds met a similar fate
And that little nest lost a little more weight
Two is company but three is a crowd
So another little bird takes flight now
Two little birds, left high in a tree
Began to talk but then disagree
Now one little bird is left in the nest
And he is much meaner than all of the rest
And ironically, he was the middle one, too
So here's the middle bird.... just for you
